Noakhali Zilla School Praktan Chhatra Forum – at a glan
With the purpose to provide high standard education facilities to the wards of British Government Officials, one Mr Jones established Noakhali Zilla School in 1850 and in 1853 it was declared as a Government School by the British Government. Since then thousands of students have passed Matriculation/S.S.C examination from Noakhali Zilla School, many of whom rendered unremitting and commendable services to the nation.
With the aim of bringing former students of Noakhali Zilla School under one umbrella, Noakhali Zilla School Praktan Chhatra Forum was formed under the leadership of Mr. Md. BasirUllah in a general meeting of the former students at the National Press Club on 17th January 2015. The meeting formed a Convening Committee consisting of 9 members with Mr. Md Bashirullah as Convenor. The Convening Committee formed a constitution sub-committee under the leadership of Mr. Ahmad Nazir, that drafted a constitution. Salient feature of the constitution was that anyone who studied in Noakhali Zilla School would be elligable to become a member of the forum. In light of the said constitution, on 7th May 2017, a 25 member Executive committee was formed with Mr. Ahmad Nazir as the President and Mr ABM Shahjahan as the General Secretary and Mr Al-Mahmud Moinul Haque. Meanwhile on 22nd July 2016 a day long re-union prpgram- “Milon Mela 2016” was organized by Noakhali Zilla School Praktan Chattra Forum at Nawab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Hall of Dhaka University. Mr ABM Shahjahan was the Convenor of the program. Around 450 members were present in this meeting.
The said committee received the approval of Registration from Social Welfare department of Government of the Peoples Republic of Bangladesh vide No. DH-09513 date 26/10/2017.
Since then Zilla School Praktan Chhatra Forum has been organizing various activities like reception program for brilliant students, Iftar party, Condolence Meeting, Mask distribution, Blood grouping program, Math Olympiad, advisory service for admission aspirants of Natore Dam College, support to the ailing Ex-students, Milan Mela etc. The most notable activity of the forum is the "Milan Mela-2020" organized on 18th January 2020 at Sechool Premises with about 2000 forum members and their families. Currently Noakhali Zilla School Praktan Chhatraforum has about 2600 proud members.
